MEET THE DANCERS: Nova Bergeron (Video)


Olivia Alboher is proud and honored to be a part of this amazing cast  She has been dancing since age two and a half and has won numerous regional and national level dance competitions.  Olivia loves to perform and fulfilled a dream this year by being part of the closing cast of Broadway’s Billy Elliot the musical.  She has been featured on commercials and has a recurring role on Oxygen Networks’ The Next Best Thing.  Olivia would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her talents.  Special thanks to the most amazing choreographer, Al Blackstone. 

Ashley Budinick grew up in Brick, NJ where she began her dance training at Denise Daniele Dance studio at the age of 3.  She continued her training there as a member of their competition team.  It was at competitions that she was honored with several scholarship awards.  Ashley furthered her training by attending the University of The Arts as a dance major.  As a junior she was awarded the Pulaski Scholarship, recognizing one female jazz major each year for their hard work and dedication.  In 2011, she graduated with an Excellence in Jazz Dance Award and a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance.  Since graduation Ashley has danced for two emerging artists, traveled with the King Michael Tour, was a featured dancer in the Columbus Day Parade and made an appearance in the upcoming film The Silver Linings Playbook, and was a dancer in Albert Blackstone’s 2011 Capezio Ace Award Piece.

Albert Blaise Cattafi has been dancing since the age of 5, thanks to his sister Eléna.  His training includes the renowned faculties of both The Joffrey Ballet School and Kelly Allen’s For Dancer’s Only.  Albert has appeared in an international Coke Zero commercial and is a member of Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance.  To great acclaim he has worked with Tony Award winning directors Des McAnuff and Jerry Mitchell, and has assisted some of the countries top choreographers such as Sergio Trujillo, Ray Keeper and Mia Michaels.  He has performed with Florence and the Machine, Kelly Clarkson and as a guest on So You Think You Can Dance as well as assisted on the production of major Broadway shows including Spiderman, Tarzan and Billy Elliot.  Most recently Albert has been dancing for Travis Wall, Teddy Forance and Nick Lazarini in their LA company Shaping Sound.  Albert believes you should always strive for perfection and never stop smiling.

MEET THE DANCERS: Albert Blaise Cattafi (Video)

Robert Saenz de Viteri toured internationally with the NYC based Nature Theatre of Oklahoma, producing their shows Poetics, No Dice, Romeo & Juliet, RamboSolo, and Life and Times from Beirut to Oslo and many cities in between.  He directed a critically acclaimed production, Michael & Edie, by Rachel Bonds.  He has also directed various short plays at the Ensemble Studio Theatre.  He is also on staff at Soho Rep.  Robbie’s dance training is purely from Denise and Richard Blackstone.  While only taking one class in his life, they have encouraged his spirit to move.  He thanks them tremendously for their influence on his life.

Katie Drablos is from Texas and trained extensively with Kristy Ulmer at KJ Dance.  Katie attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and received her BFA in Dance Performance.  After college Katie moved to New York City and performed as a Rockette in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in 2009 and 2010.  She danced in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Live with Regis and Kelly, and the Martha Stewart Show.  Katie has also performed in Justin Giles company Soul Escape throughout the years.  In the past year Katie has expanded her skill set to acting and singing and has been training at T Schreiber Stoudio and just performed in her first cabaret at Don’t Tell Mama.  Katie continues to teach and choreograph around the country and is so excited and honored to be part of Happy We’ll Be with one of her favorite people in the entire world, Al Blackstone. 

Rosie Lani Fiedelman, from Breckenridge Colorado, graduated as part of the first class from the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA program.  She was an original cast member of the four-time Tony Award-winning and 2008 Grammy Award-winning musical In The Heights.  She also earned the 2006-2007 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance Off-Broadway and the 2007-2008 Outstanding Broadway Chorus Award from The Actors’ Equity Association.  She played Rosario in Ghostdancer at The Mint Theatre.  She most recently worked on Heatwave: The Jack Cole Project at the Queens Theatre in the Park where she was an ensemble member and dance captain.  Ms. Fiedelman is a member of WALKERDANCE, directed by Chet Walker.  She has performed with Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, MSDT, CWDT and Camille A. Brown.  She has danced with Jennifer Muller/The Works since 2003.  Ms. Fiedelman has traveled with the company to Thailand, Bolivia and China where she taught master classes to the Beijing Dance/LDTX modern dance company and most recently Fortaleza, Brazil.  She teaches at Reebox Sports Club and Steps On Broadway.

Ryan Kasprzak is currently assistant choreographer for Smash on NBC and can be seen as the Sun Drop Guy in TV ads for Sun Drop soda.  Ryan was Associate Resident Choreographer and dance captain for the 1st National tour of Billy Elliot and appeared on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance.  He continues to create new work with Parallel Exit: Physical Comedy Theatre with who he is appearing I Bob at the Joyce SoHo.  Their show Cut to the Chase was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and their comic tap musical Time Step has been seen at the New Victory Theatre, Joyce SoHo, Lincoln Center Institute and Cos Festival in Spain.  Ryan was nominated for a New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Choreography and served as dance captain for the International Tour of Fosse.  BFA Marymount Manhattan College.  www.ryankasprzak.com Congrats to Al for being BRILLIANT!

Heather Lang studied at Ruth Page School and Hubbard Street Dance before earning her B.F.A. in dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.  Theatre credits: Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, Radio City Rockettes, Nights on Broadway II, Spaghetti Ballet/Eliot Feld.  Regional: Cats, Gypsy, Cabaret.  Broadway Workshops: Addams Family, Dangerous Beauty, Up Here, Fat Camp.  Opera: Faust, Grendel, Damnation of Faust.  Film: I Am Legend, Smurfs, Across the Universe, The Great Observer, Misery Loves Company.  TV: Smash, Rescue Me, Gossip Girl, VH1 Fashion Rocks, MTV: Wannabe.  Heather has also acted in numerous TV commercials.  Last year, Heather and Eleanor created a two woman show, The Heather Lang Show by Eleanor Bauer and Vice Versus performed in Berlin and at Abrons Arts Center (NYC).  Their original rap single Trash is Fierce has been performed at Upright Citizens Brigade and the Creek and the Cave, they will be turing it throughout Europe this fall.  Heather continues to create work with Jason Parsons and Ayo Jackson.  Recently, Heather is choreographing for commercials, as well as venturing into creating her own work.

Marty Lawson Broadway: How to Succeed in Business... Nathan Lucrezio is a professional performer based here in New York City.  As a youth he competed in regional, national and international Irish Dance competitions.  His highest honor was placing 12th (2nd highest in America from his age group) at the World Championships.  Nathan then graduated with his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Penn State University and was cast in the Broadway tour of A Chorus Line as Alan DeLuca.  Since tour, he starred in his one man show UnHeard, was nominated for ‘Outstanding Actor in a Musical’ in Children of God, won the ‘Emerging Talent Award’ from the 2011 Lotte Lenya Competition, made his NBC debut Bollywood dancing on the series SMASH, taught Irish Dance at Broadway Dance Center, and is releasing his first single this summer.  To learn more about Nathan and his upcoming projects visit www.nathanlucrezio.comHe is honored to be a part of Happy We’ll Be!

Ida Saki, originally from Dallas Texas, attended Tisch School of the Arts of New York University and is a member of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet Company.  She has been awarded by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts / YoungArts, named a Texas Young Master in dance, Iran’s Person of the Day and received five national titles, including Distinguished Performer of the Year and Outstanding Dancer of the Year.  Ida has graced the cover of the prestigious Dance Magazine, Parastoo Magazine and has appeared within the magazines numerous times.  Beyond her dancing, Ida was selected to present her choreography in Miami, Florida as part of the National High School Dance Festival, where she received the Outstanding Choreography Award and was able to perform in the festival’s gala.  Ida’s most prized honor was performing at the Kennedy Center and meeting President Obama after being the only female dancer to be named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts.  She has performed alongside Gallim Dance in Grand Central Terminal in the Lacoste Fragrance Launch, danced in benefits for Ronald McDonald House and Japan Relief Benefits, as well as performs nationally and internationally in Canada, Italy, Ukraine, and France.

Marcos Santana was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  As a choreographer and performer, Marcos has had the privilege of working with distinguished choreographers and directors such as Dianne Paulus, Franco Dragone, Sergio Trujillo, Andy Blanckenbuehler, Des McAnuff and Hal Prince among others.  Favorite Broadway credits include: In The Heights and Guys and Dolls.  National/International Tours include: Evita, Contact, West Side Story.  Regional Theatre Credits: Fortress of Solitude, White Noise (Royal George Theater), Guys and Dolls (John Engeman Theatre), My Fair Lady (John Engeman Theatre), Paul Simon’s The Capeman (The Public Theatre), The Wiz (LaJolla Playhouse), Carmen the Musical and Tarzan (Europe).  Other: MSDT, Eden’s Crush, Divas Las Vegas and Chayanne.  Love to everyone who has become my teacher in some way or another ... Jessica Walker is beyond thrilled to be a part of this amazing cast and so grateful to Al for the opportunity to be a part of Happy We’ll Be.  Originally from Los Angeles, Jessica moved to New York to obtain her BFA from Fordham University/The Ailey School.  Shortly after graduation she joined the Broadway cast of Movin’ Out.  Next she moved to Las Vegas to open the production of Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular.  Jessica then joined the 1st National Tour of Wicked.  Since moving back to the city she did her first play, movie and then opera at The Metropolitan Opera.  She’ll be working there again next season.  Jessica would like to thank her family, friends, teachers and Nathan for their unending support and guidance.

Natalie Malotke (Producer - N+N Productions)

Natalie is an independent producer, choreographer, director and teaching artists.  Currently she teaches Musical Theatre at Broadway Dance Center, Rosie’s Theatre Kids and is a resident director/choreographer for Nickelodeon with Norwegian Cruise Lines.  Producing projects include: I’M IN starring Rachelle Rak at Le Poisson Rouge, D Watts: Spoken Word Preserves at the Helen Mills Theatre, Indomitable: James Brown at Les Poisson Rouge, the 2010 Gala for Transport Group and the 2011 Gala for A.R.T./New York and the monthly concert series Broadway Rhythm and Booze.  She has worked as a junior talent agent at Clear Talent Group, a casting assistant and booking agent.  Natalie has directed and choreographed regionally including work as the SDCF Observer Assistant on The Little Dancer Project at Lincoln Center Theatre with Susan Stroman; associate director and choreographer of the U.S. Premiere of Jerry Springer: The Opera at The Bailiwick Rep; and at Wagon Wheel among other credits.  Natalie holds a Theatre Arts and French degree from The University of Michigan.  www.VallinsAndMalotke.com

Gil Stroming (Producer - Break the Floor Productions)

At only age 29, Gil is regarded as one of the leading dance entrepreneurs in the world.  Before his business ventures, Gil began his dance career at 12 years old when he performed the role of the Nutcracker Prince and toured Russia with the Kirov Student Ballet Company.  From there, he immersed himself in tap dance and by age 16 he was cast in the hit Off-Broadway show Tap Dogs.  Upon leaving the show at age 18, Gil created his own tap dance group and company, Break The Floor.  Break The Floor performed in shows nationwide with the new York Times calling it “An Explosion of Energy!” and the New York Post has labeled it “A rock ‘n’ roll tap-dance spectacle!”  Gil went on to choreograph and perform for the NBA at Madison Square Garden, for the internationally televised Goodwill Games (TBS), The Marian Anderson Awards (PBS), The Thanksgiving Day Parade (ABC), Th Princess Grace Awards, and toured Europe as a soloist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra.  Gil has appeared on numerous television programs including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, Weekend Today, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and the Kennedy Center’s 25th Anniversary Honors (PBS).  He can be seen in commercials, industrials, magazine covers and on Chris Rock’s comedy album, Bigger and Blacker.  Gil is also the face of Capezio tap shoes, gracing the cover of Capezio tap shoe boxes worldwide.  www.BreakTheFloor.com

Nikole Vallins (Producer - N+N Productions)

Nikole is an independent producer, career/audition consultant and casting director.  Production Projects include: I’M IN starring Rachelle Rak at Le Poisson Rouge, D Watts: Spoken Word Preserves at the Helen Mills Theatre, Indomitable: James Brown at Les Poisson Rouge, National Asian Artist’s Project’s Oklahoma!, Steven Jamail’s Concert at Hudson Terrace and the monthly concert series Broadway Rhythm and Booze.  As a casting director, she has worked at Binder Casting and at Dave Clemmons Casting on such projects as A Chorus Line, Finian’s Rainbow, White Christmas, The Lion King, Gypsy, the NY City Center Encores! series and the feature film, Hairspray.  She is also a co-creator of The Next Step Audition Workshop in NYC.  Nikole is on the Artistic Advisory board of Rosie’s Broadway Kids and is a board member of The Performing Arts Project.  www.VallinsAndMalotke.com

Neal Hunter Hyde (Director of Video and Media)

Having accidentally moved to New York in January 2011 [woops], Neal currently serves as the Supervising Producer for the hit webseries Submissions Only created by Kate Wetherhead and Andrew Keenan-Bolger.  Additional collaborations with AKB include Gavin Creel’s music video NOISE (Assistant Director), Disney’s Newsies: Behind the Scenes series (videographer/co-producer), The Girly Shorts (co-producer/videographer) and the parody videos Make Tracy Gay and I Should’ve Killed You with Jake Wilson/The Battery’s Down.  Previously with N+N productions, Neal created promotional and performance video for Asmeret Ghebremichael & Michael James Scott’s Fingerlickin Fierce.  Additional NYC clients and projects have included Rosie’s Theatre Kids, CAP21, Broadway Teaching Workshop and filmed concerts for composer Steven Jamail, Broadway Rhythm & Booze, The Champagne Set, Wyatt, Blue Bottle Collection, Nick Blaemire & the Hustle and Carner & Gregor’s Barely Legal. Al Blackstone (Director/Choreographer) is an NYC-based dance maker, performer, and educator and the recipient of the 2011 Capezio A.C.E. Award for Choreographic Excellence.  While working mostly in musical theatre, his passion for contemporary and jazz dance enriches his unique approach to storytelling.  Al most recently choreographed the solos performed on So You Think You Can Dance by season 8 finalist Jess LeProtto.  Additionally, his choreography has been seen on cast members of Broadway’s The Lion King for Defying Inequality: A Broadway Benefit and on Wicked cast member Nova Bergeron for BC Beat: A Broadway Connection Industry Night.  Favorite performing credits include: Wicked (Broadway and 1st National Tour), Carousel (Barrington Stages), NBC’s American Dreams and TLCs Trading Spaces.  He is currently on faculty at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC.  In fall of 2012 Al will be choreographing a production of Sweet Charity at the John W.
