SIGN - a silent film from Andrew Keenan-Bolger on Vimeo.

Assistant Directed and Line Produced
by Neal Hunter Hyde
SIGN is an award-winning short film that tells the story of a relationship between Ben, a hearing man, and Aaron, who is deaf. Directed by Andrew Keenan-Bolger with a screenplay and score by Adam Wachter, SIGN is told through vignettes, music, and sign language.
Inspired to portray an under-explored human experience, Andrew and Adam collaborated with Deaf actors in the New York theatre community, combining Andrew’s passion for visual imagery with Adam’s love of musical storytelling.
The film was shot in a four-day marathon session in multiple locations across New York City, on a set staffed by actors, ASL interpreters, Deaf consultants and many passionate hearing and Deaf volunteers.
SIGN has played at over 50 film festivals worldwide and won 10 major awards. It has distribution through Peccadillo Pictures where it is featured in their popular BOYS ON FILM collection.
